Ragusa Ibla offers a wide range of accommodation, but there are no great hotels. There are small structures (maximum 15 rooms) and B&B that are scattered around, amongst the historic heritage baroque palaces and the picturesque views.
IBLA is the oldest baroque district, and original core, while Ragusa the most recent part of the city built following the tragic earthquake of 1693. The upper town, Ragusa Superiore, is the most recent part built after the earthquake. The two centres are joined by a long staircase (18 sec.) and a narrow road. Thanks to the numerous Baroque buildings that embellish its old quarter and its monuments have been declared World Heritage by UNESCO. Today is the province of Ragusa is one of the richest areas of Sicily.
